The lemon is a food which naturally stimulates the body's elimination process, leading to toxins being expelled from the body. Of course it is essential to use proper lemons and make lemonade properly, instead of relying on a bottled supermarket product which may not contain any real lemon anyway.
A lemon detox will send your body into a state where the elimination process is working overtime, so be sure to use this system at a quiet time in your life. Do not attempt this right at the busiest time in your work schedule.
Detox drinks can speed up the process considerably, but be aware that an extreme change in the diet can lead to some severe side effects. This is why it is better to see a detox program as part of an overall strategy for better health, rather than a one off magic pill solution. The more you can follow a sensible dietary regime in your normal life, the easier a detox program will be on your body when you come to eliminate the toxins which have built up. If you can include raw vegetables and fruit in your diet as a matter of routine, you will be enjoying a permanent diet detox.
